These snack bars are a tasty and simple combo of fresh organic lime, banana, macadamia nuts, shredded coconut and gluten-free oats. It’s important, if you suffer from Celiac disease, or are trying to eliminate gluten from your diet, that you purchase oats from trusted sources to avoid contamination with wheat, rye or barley. Raw Mini Blueberry Cheesecakes
These raw, dairy-free mini blueberry cheesecakes are made with a gluten-free pecan and buckwheat crust that is so good, you won’t miss the standard graham cracker crust one bit. Besides, Buckwheat is a good source of protein, contains eight essential amino acids and is known to balance mood, mind clarity and it even provides calcium, manganese and vitamins B and E. Amaranth Hemp Protein Poppers

Inspired by Brendan Brazier’s use of popped amaranth grain in some of his THRIVE recipes, I created this bite-sized protein popper which is great for kids and people on-the-go. Popped amaranth is similar in smell and taste to popcorn, yet micro-adorable in size. It pairs deliciously with buttery nuts and sweet banana. You can store poppers in an airtight glass container in your refrigerator, freezer or you can dehydrate them and keep them in your pantry. Amaranth Hemp Protein Poppers are a great snack to keep with you in your kitchen, office, handbag or car so when hunger hits, you have a healthy option ready for you. Read more…
Raw Banana Parfait with Crumble Topping
I was raised on sweets. My grandparents had a colossal candy cabinet and bowls of colorful sugary goodness all over the house. It’s almost part of my DNA—the sweets. So even though I have shifted into a greater awareness of what I put into my body, there is no need to completely ignore my old pal, Mr. Sweet Tooth. I have played around for a few days and finally Frankensteined this Banana Pudding Parfait (cue the lightning bolt). This recipe incorporates all natural, enzyme-rich ingredients that your body wants, including natural sugars, so take any guilt and kick it out the door. Read more…
Raw Applesauce

This Fall, per YumUniverse contributor Robyn’s recommendation, I went to the Wild Raspberry Apple Orchard Harvest Fest in Union Pier, Michigan. My entry fee included, not only a slice of deeelicious homemade apple pie, but a bag to fill with hand-picked organic apples or Asian pears. It was so calming to walk the rows of trees in the orchard, filling my bag with organic goodies. I came home with enough Empire apples to sink a ship, so I spent the weekend creating raw recipes that would incorporate every last one. One of my favorites, was a simple raw applesauce.
