Rooibos Vanilla Sun Tea

Vanilla Rooibos Sun Tea

3

I’m a big fan of, not only the taste of Rooibos Tea, but of it’s disease-fighting health benefits as well. Summer is finally starting to get serious here in Chicago and I’m lucky enough to live in a very sun-filled home—perfect for brewing sun tea.

Tools:
Glass container with tight fitting lid
Strainer

Ingredients:
Try to buy everything organic. Here’s why.
1 fresh, organic vanilla bean
Loose Rooibos tea
Pure water

Let’s get started.
Open your vanilla bean and place into the glass container.

Add about 1 tbsp of Rooibos tea per 2 cups water, to container, until full.

Seal jar and set on a ledge in the sun.

Steep all day, and up to 24 hours, until a rich red develops.

Strain, pour yourself a glass over ice, and store remaining tea in the fridge. You can sweeten with Date Puree, agave or honey, but know that this tea is flavorful enough without any sweetener at all.

When I poured my first glass of this batch, there was a rainbow on the closet door—I couldn’t resist.
