The other day, I came home to a package with four beautiful milk bottles in it accompanied by a lovely note from the kind person who sent them to me (because they appreciated my Raw Almond Milk). Sadly, I couldn’t read the signature on the note and the mailing label that I had set on the counter to send a thankyouthankyouthankyou note to was accidentally thrown out by my boyfriend. Silly boyfriend. I am touched and grateful for the generosity of this kind person and since I have no way to reach them, I must post my new favorite mornin’ beverage using one of these lovely bottles.I had been feeling sluggish during my workouts, so I ordered Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life by Brendan Brazier. I have to say that for me, this book has made an incredible difference. Brendan covers the nutritional benefits of hemp seeds in his book and he incorporates them into many of his recipes (also in the book). Since I started eating more hemp seeds, I feel unstoppable in my workouts and my recovery is noticeably quicker. I have been boxing training quite a bit and the strength and stamina I have has greatly improved. I have been using plain hemp milk on my homemade cereals and yesterday I had a lovely box of blueberries in the fridge from the Pilsen Community Market so I thought, “mashup”.
Try freezing this recipe to make blueberry cream popsicles!
Makes: approx. 4 cups | Preparation Time: 15mins
Try to buy everything organic. Here’s why.
2/3 cup of organic Hemp seeds
3 cups coconut water (can use plain water, but coconut water is the yummiest and super hydrating)
1 cup organic blueberries
2 tbsp grade B maple syrup (or raw, wild-harvested honey)
Dash fine ground sea salt
Let’s get started:
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Pour some in an adorable glass and store the rest in a beautiful bottle in your fridge. Enjoy!
